Salesforce and OpenAI today announced an expanded strategic alliance, which will enable a new generation of employee and customer experiences powered by Salesforce Agentforce 360 and OpenAI frontier models.
This groundbreaking collaboration will enable businesses to use Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 platform via ChatGPT, allowing them to query sales information, examine customer chats, or construct a Tableau visualization by just typing a query into ChatGPT. They can also employ OpenAI’s latest frontier models, such as GPT-5, to create AI agents and prompts for the Salesforce platform.
A new commerce experience will enable shared clients to sell to hundreds of millions of potential US consumers in ChatGPT while maintaining complete control over their processes, data, and customer connections.
The SaaS landscape is shifting, as discrete point-and-click applications evolve into multi-surface, agent-driven discussions. This collaboration accelerates that transformation by merging OpenAI’s frontier models and capabilities with Salesforce’s data-driven enterprise processes on ChatGPT and Slack, which support over 800 million weekly users and 5.2 billion weekly messages, respectively. As a result, Salesforce and OpenAI users can now easily access sophisticated, enterprise-grade AI from their preferred surface environment.
By combining the world’s leading frontier AI with the world’s #1 AI CRM, we’re laying the groundwork for businesses to become Agentic.

Today’s announcement contains the following integrations:
Agentforce 360 apps in ChatGPT: Salesforce apps will be available through the Apps in ChatGPT initiative, delivering enterprise intelligence, CRM data, and Tableau visualizations directly into ChatGPT interactions.
Instant Checkout and Agentforce Commerce: Agentforce Commerce will integrate with the Agentic Commerce Protocol, which powers Instant Checkout in ChatGPT. This integration will provide merchants with a new way to reach hundreds of millions of potential customers while maintaining complete control over their orders, payments, fulfillment, and customer relationships.
ChatGPT on Slack: The ChatGPT app for Slack now integrates directly with Slack, allowing teams to rapidly and effortlessly surface insights, write content, and summarize complex conversations while working. The connection also enhances Slack search results by using internal data from ChatGPT-connected tools.
Codex in Slack: Codex, an OpenAI agent that creates and changes code using natural language instructions, can now be tagged within a Slack channel or thread, allowing it to capture important context, select the appropriate environment, and respond with a link to the finished work in Codex Cloud.
Salesforce will integrate OpenAI’s reasoning, voice, and multimodal capabilities into the Agentforce 360 Platform, making agentic enterprise experiences more intelligent and powerful. OpenAI will also be listed as a preferred model, allowing Agentforce 360 customers to set it as the default LLM for the Atlas Reasoning Engine and Prompt Builder. Apps like Agentforce Sales can also use OpenAI frontier models to provide greater context and faster analysis.
This alliance radically alters the employee experience, guaranteeing that intelligent, data-driven work occurs in the flow of conversation by providing secure, seamless access to the whole enterprise stack exactly where teams already communicate. It also builds on an existing partner base, with OpenAI selecting Slack as the first enterprise platform to launch a third-party ChatGPT app.
Salesforce’s apps, beginning with Agentforce Sales, will provide authorized employees with instant, natural-language access to their Salesforce CRM data and Tableau visuals, while also leveraging the enormous, generative intelligence of OpenAI models for richer context and faster analysis.
Bringing ChatGPT into Slack enables teams to summarize complex conversations or swiftly create messages and answers while working. Developers use Slack to discuss ideas, make decisions, and handle essential workflows. With Codex in Slack, teams can simply tag @Codex in a channel or thread to delegate programming duties, just like they would with a coworker.
A project manager using Slack can request that ChatGPT instantaneously synthesize the team’s most recent quarterly metrics deck into a high-level summary that can be shared in Slack channels with relevant stakeholders.
This collaboration also enables businesses to meet customers where they spend time, with commerce easily integrated into the conversational channels and AI-powered experiences they use with intent every day.
End-to-end commerce experiences driven by Instant Checkout in ChatGPT and the Agentic Commerce Protocol enable Agentforce Commerce businesses to swiftly record demand and facilitate purchases when customers search for products in ChatGPT.
By combining Agentforce Commerce with Instant Checkout in ChatGPT, retailers can provide frictionless, secure transactions at the point of purchase intent while lowering integration costs and time to market. Product catalogs from Agentforce Commerce will display in ChatGPT, and embedded checkout with Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) and Stripe will allow for tokenized, privacy-compliant transactions. Together, these capabilities provide the end-to-end architecture for agentic commerce, transforming intent into conversion in a single, trusted encounter.
A sportswear company utilizing Agentforce Commerce can integrate its product catalog into ChatGPT, surfacing the most recent range of hiking boots to customers looking for hiking gear. Furthermore, the boots may be purchased via Instant Checkout, without leaving the app, guaranteeing that the shop maintains the client relationship.
