Salesforce recently introduced new Slack AI capabilities that make it easier for users to implement automation, regardless of technical skills. Customers may now create a Slack process that triggers when an event occurs in a third-party service such as PagerDuty, Asana, BitBucket, and others.
Customers can now create workflows in Slack with a more straightforward user experience, as well as access over 50 new plug-and-play templates that cover typical productivity use cases. Developers now have access to more coding languages and tools, allowing them to design and share unique workflows with their teams.
Seventy-one percent of business leaders are under pressure from management to increase efficiency in their teams, while a similar 70% of IT executives are afraid that rising business expectations would stifle innovation. Furthermore, 77% of users believe that being able to automate routine tasks will significantly increase their productivity.
Companies require automation solutions that increase productivity without burdening IT and no-code, user-friendly automation is a critical tool for attaining this goal.
Workflow Builder, Slack’s no-code automation solution, enables users to automate their most essential processes and tasks right where they are currently working, without adding to their IT workload. With the new Workflow Builder capabilities released today, clients can now:
Start Automations from Actions in Third-Party App
Slack workflows could only begin with an activity that occurred in Slack or Salesforce. An activity in third-party software, such as PagerDuty, Asana, or Bitbucket, can now trigger a workflow in Slack.
Workflow Builder
Through these Slack AI Capabilities, you can easily create workflows and have access to over 50 new pre-built templates. A new user experience in Process Builder enables users to easily design a process by answering a query, comparable to filling in the blanks in a sentence. With 50 new out-of-the-box workflow templates, customers can easily create automation for basic business processes such as project start-up, survey data collection, and IT ticket creation.
Customizing Workflow
With new Slack AI Capabilities, you can easily customize workflows. When users need to construct a custom process, they can leverage Slack’s open APIs and developer tools. New capabilities in Slack’s developer platform make it easy to create custom steps. Developers may now create and manage custom steps on the Slack app settings page using a new, more user-friendly interface.
Don’t make me think is one of Slack’s product philosophies. We’re taking that approach to automation, which has traditionally been technical and time-consuming, and making it a straightforward and joyful productivity driver for everyone.
These new features enhance the Slack platform for all customers, providing developers and end users with the tools they need to seamlessly automate any business process across their work apps, right where they are already working. As Slack grows in popularity as a place to get work done, we’ll make it as easy as possible for users to develop automated processes and take control of their productivity. – Robert Seaman, Chief Product Officer.
